With its four equal arms flaring outward, this pendant takes its overall shape from the insignia worn by the knights of the Teutonic Order of the 13th century.

Here, the arms get their flare from short angled cuts rather than sweeping curves, giving it a more geometric look and creating complementary frames for four triquetra knots, one for each arm. The four knots are cleverly modified Celtic-style to meet at the pendant's diamond-shaped center.

The knot design as well as the pendant's border are raised and smoothly polished to contrast with a background that is darkened, recessed and lightly textured.
