This handsome pendant featuring the profile of a wolf's head is beautifully detailed with a dazzling array of Celtic-inspired knots, spirals and swirls in an intricate design. The wolf is done in relief, raised against a recessed background that is textured and darkened with oxidation. There is also a wide border around the pendant framing the wolf and decorated with similar knots that in places flow seamlessly into the wolf's design.

The combination of raised surfaces and the pendant's domed surface - both of which can be seen on the reverse side - gives it a sculptural quality and the look of a medallion.
