At first glance this sun and crescent moon pair look fairly traditional until you notice that they're inscribed with tattoo-like designs that give it a slightly tribal look. Also several of the designs look to be portions of lotus flowers, giving the pendant a southeast Asian or Indian influence.

Another nice detail is how the tips of the crescent as well as several of the sun's rays are curled.
